Common Track & Wheel Problems

As they wear, they develop flat spots, lose their bearing smoothness, and eventually crack or seize. Worn rollers cause grinding noises, uneven movement, and increased strain on the motor that shortens its lifespan.
Track damage is another common issue. Vehicle tires can bend or crush sections of track, ground settling can cause track sections to shift out of level, and debris accumulation can obstruct the gate path. Damaged or misaligned track forces the gate to work harder, accelerates roller wear, and can cause the gate to jump off the track entirely.
Guide rollers at the top and end of the gate travel are also critical components. These rollers keep the gate aligned vertically and prevent wobbling or leaning. When guide rollers wear or their brackets loosen, the gate can sway, bind, or derail.

A derailed slide gate — one that has come completely off its track — is both a security emergency and a safety hazard.
